Hello, I am Sagar Sawuck, originally from Mauritius, currently residing in Amsterdam.

Photography is an outlet for me to express myself creatively.
I specialise in landscape photography.
I am a night owl.
The moon and the stars are my confidants.
The trees are my safe havens.
The mountains teach me.
The sun guides me.
The sea calms me.
My dream is to travel the world and experience nature in all of its glory, and to share these experiences with YOU!

Having studied Web and Multimedia development, I am a Web Developer by profession. Web development can be quite stressful, I like to spend time alone in the company of nature — to just be and experience the simple things of life, and to replenish myself.
Over the years, I have been blessed with experiences that words cannot describe. Soon, I felt the need to share these experiences with people, and that’s when I discovered photography. It has also become a way to connect to the natural world on a deeper level, beyond what the senses are capable of.

With each photograph I share with the world, I share the connection that I felt to the natural world when capturing the image. I am never in a hurry to publish images that I have captured, the right moment often finds me — when the image matches the mood. The editing process is an emotional catharsis for me, an exploration, a discovery, a contemplation, a meditation. Sometimes it culminates with a poem or story.

Personally, it is this wholesome, deep connection that I wish to create.
A pointer to the Divine that surrounds us — not external to us, but dwelling within us all. I hope to awaken that which slumbers within us all through the power of storytelling — to raise collective awareness, so that we protect and respect Nature all around us.
But first, it always starts with my SELF, I have to make the link first so that I can share it with YOU. Photography is the journey that allows me to accomplish this.
